Kinkead Ridge 2006 Revelation Wine Wins First Place in the Red Wine Category in First Ohio/Michigan Wine Clash
2008-11-19

The First Annual Ohio vs Michigan Wine Clash. Two Ohio wines and three Michigan wines were best in category in this first annual event. In the Red Wine category, Kinkead Ridge's 2006 Revelation Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, took first place. The organizer, Andrew Hall, www.CellarTracker.com says: "From nearly sixty wines, all from grapes grown within the respective states and carefully selected for quality, your wine wowed separate panels of tasters in Ann Arbor and Columbus. This is the first-ever purely consumer-selected and run wine competition in either state and we had tasting panels of accredited wine professionals, retailers, restaurateurs and wine enthusiasts. We hope that this competition, held in celebration of the legendary OSU/UM gridiron rivalry, will serve to raise awareness, demand and quality of wine in both states." The winning wines will be poured at Alana's Restaurant in Columbus on November 20. Congratulations to Ferrante Winery for their win in the Aromatic White Category.
