Geneva-on-the-Lake Hosts "Lake Erie Wine Fest"

Geneva-on-the-Lake Hosts “Lake Erie Wine Fest” Ohio’s only festival promoting the Wines of Lake Erie will commence in Geneva-on-the-Lake on Saturday & Sunday, June 19-20, 2010. The festival grounds will be open to the public 1 to 10 PM both days. The tasting festival is sponsored by Clear Channel Radio Youngstown, Media 1 Radio Ashtabula and “The North Coast Voice” entertainment magazine. “The Landing” festival grounds, at 5481 Lake Road, will be the venue for this regional event. “What better place to host this event than Ohio’s First Summer Resort, Geneva-on-the-Lake,” says event coordinator Brook Collin Hall. “Our site right on the Lake Erie shore really lends ambiance to the event, and it is right in the middle of the resort town.” Ten Ohio wineries from throughout the Lake Erie growing region will be featured at the Wine Fest. Continuous entertainment on two stages will fill the days, and there will be cooking demonstration, an amateur winemaking display and exhibition, and various vendors. “We also have a “Crafters Village” for both days These are true home-crafted items and were invited only after going though a jury process,” said Brook. Wines will be available by the glass to enjoy at the festival and by the bottle to take home. The $20 adult taster ticket includes one-day admission, a souvenir wine glass, a tasting guide and 15 one ounce wine tastes. $5 Designated driver tickers are also available and include coupons for non-alcoholic beverages. Participating wineries include Debonne Vineyards, Emerine Estates, Ferrante Winery, Grand River Cellars, Klingshirn Winery, Lakehouse Inn & Winery, Old Firehouse Winery, Old Mill Winery, Virant Family Winery, and the Winery at Spring Hill.
